If you have a Netflix account, type in Nollywood and you'll see a few flicks there!

How? Isn't it iroko that sub-licensed the movies there in the first place?
Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know if their agreement has materialised into movies placed already. It doesn't stop them from sourcing their own movies as soon as they establish there is a market for the content.

hmmm.... I don't know if the kind of movies they have on there would make any impact. Maybe too early to tell, we'll see.

I know. I see them. They will soon drive Iroko out of business...
I'm more concerned about the impact of Iroko, netflix etc on activities at Idumota and Iweka road.I'm sure those traders have been run out of town.

I always say this, films on the internet have little or no impact on sale in Nigeria because 1) Bandwidth is still slow in Nigeria, so people will continue to buy dvds. 2) Movies are a communal, boding experience. Nigerians back home like to watch together and discuss what's going on unlike in the West. E.g when someone comes to visit or make hair etc, they like to put on dvds to discuss or watch. No one is going to stream anything. That's why the marketers will still remain in business because they serve a certain market. Even cinema sales don;t really affect them.

But piracy is affecting them seriously o. And despite the bandwidth issue, Naijas download pirated videos to their hard drives overnight and then watch during the day. The internet is actually improving if you have the right package. Still feels like 24k modem at work sha...
