I use the curl ehancing smoothie and a few other of their products. I like them. This particular hairstyle looks like it could seriously damage your hair though. Unless there is another technique to achieve the same result.

Hey there, is it the technique or the hairstyle that you think may be damaging? I just did it this AM, waiting for my hair to dry bit it really does look nice. I just need a shape up and I will be good to go. Who knew it was this easy!!

and which would you recommend?
i don't know what type my hair is, but it is tightly coiled and my shrinkage is out of this world. i don't want to spend all that money on kinky curly (you have to buy the whole range!! for it to work properly)

i suppose if you moisturize your hair well, there won't be any damage.

It softens my hair for sure. And I have very thirsty hair. I think it helps my curls when I do twist outs. The only downside is that it leaves residue. I just got the conditioner and another moisturizer that I will use when I take down this hair I have. I will let you know if it gives the same results with less residue. I get shrinkage also but I hardly wear my natural hair by itself. I usually have it braided and have some sort of curly afro sewn on. The first time I wore it for more than a week naturally was a couple of weeks ago when I went to Atlanta. I don't know how people claim that naturl hair is less maintenance because it is not o. Not for me at least. if I had to keep my hair like this all the time I would never get anywhere on time.

Above all their line of products smell really well. My mom brought a ton of shea butter for me when she came from Nigeria because it worked miracles for my nieces hair but I smelled it and was like warraheck. Mbanu.

It looks very soft but maybe it is just her hair type. I am not good at hair types (you know how someone can look at your hair and tell you if you are 4B and all that). She seems to already have soft hair. The only time I had that texture before moisturizing was when I had texturized hair. I don't even let the lady that does my hair comb my hair because she does hair "african style". Which means pull my hair until she is lifting me off my seat by the comb in my hair. I don't think my hair would have survived the treatment in the video.

OK Ladies, I'm going out and I too will try the natural look, I feel funny already though, not used to it. My hair is barely 2 inches, I always cut it. I did the twist out in the video so I will see what it looks like in a few days. I'm surprised thought, my hair is still very soft, perhaps it's the multitude of oils I used, I used coconut, olive, and morroccan oils. Also, I watched another video where she does her own 'shea butter', anyone mix their own? thinking about doing that, my girlfriend in Atlanta tells me she also puts some crisco in her shea butter concoction. I have VERY DRY hair, that's why I'm surprised it's still soft from this morning. How many times a day should I put the oils and or moisturizers and will it get softer as I treat it? Do I need professional help other than the shaping? Ladies, please advice, I'm feeling this now.

Well, I washed with pantene natural shampoo and conditioner, I dried it with a Tshirt like the video, then I put the shea butter leave in conditioner, the oils, coconut, olive, and morroccan oils, and a bantu curl enhancing cream. I put some more water, then did the brush motion, then sprayed a bit more h2o and that's it.

I do not think the techique used will damage natural hair. I think if you do not put enough of the cream instead, you will not get the hair to coil. I can just see myself getting a lot of dandroff after putting all that cream into my hair.
