This format is hailed as the true digital successor to the world aqcuisition standard in the broadcasting world,the analog BetacamSP.
Sony tried with the BetacamSX,but the format was not accepted in europe because of it's too low video bitrate(18Mbits/s).Most TV stations find that unacceptable.So Sony came out with IMX
