These two systems are the leading systems used by hollywood's most advanced postproduction studios.They form an integral part of what is now called "THE DIGITAL INTERMEDIATE(DI)".Which simply means,between aqcuisition and projection of movies in the film medium,everything in the middle(postproduction)is done in the digital domain.
These two systems are the premiere systems of the movimaking world.They cost between $300K and a million dollars depending on the configuration.

At the moment,we don't need these kind of sytems for our movies,but who knows at the present rate that the industry is growing,who knows.

The FIRE system runs on ONYX 3000 SERIES visualization supercomputer from the Silicon graphics(SGI),at least the old version.
The new version of the system runs on the newer supercomputer platforms ONYX4 or the ONYX 350.
The system is getting more powerful,while the prices are coming down.Maybe by the time naija producers can be able to afford such systems,they will be on a more reasonable prices.:D One can always dream
