What kind of gear do you have?

Just wondering if some of you hardware/software junkies out there have some stuff of your own? Here's what I have, which I currently use to shoot documentaries, etc.

A Canon GL2
A homebuilt Athlon XP 2.4Gh PC running WinXP
- I have DV500/Premiere 6.0 on this machine

- I also have a homebuilt 1.4 (Athlon) Win2k system with Pinnacle Studio 8 for those occasional weddings/events I cover for people that don't require me using my dedicated editing system above.

I have all sorts of mikes, lights and other accessories.

Yeah, not much, but it serves my purpose for now. As soon as I can afford it, I hope to upgrade. Don't know what to yet. The field is alwys changing, so it makes no sense to plan that far ahead until you're ready to spend the money!!! Ha ha!

Those are nice gears that you have there.Good enough to make a feature.
I am still saving up money to buy my own system.I do not know yet which video format to use for shooting and until i do so,i won't be buying any NLE just yet.My choice of NLE will have to be a fully configurated Canopus DV STORM PRO turnkey system or the DV REX version.But we shall see.The cash rules my decision,ofcourse!:D

There's nothing like having your own gear,believe me.I have a friend here in austria who has a studio and his gear(an austrian).He uses digibeta as video format and has two NLEs.An avid media composer and an Avid Symphony.I get to play a bit with the systems,but it is nothing like having your own inyour home doing things with it.
My first experience with an NLE was in a demonstration session with a Sony NLE system(ES3,no more in production),and since then i was hooked.I just gotta get mine and quick too!

Good luck, buddy. I'm still smoking the gari for my own, but I knew it was do or die. I just had to get me a usable gear to shoot some average material. Someday, we will go higher!
